 EtherProbe is a revolutionary new product built upon Ethernet OAM standards. EtherProbe™ enables abilities beyond the scope of what current OAM standards can provide and were intended to do.
In today’s competitive marketplace, it’s the savvy network operators that invest in network infrastructure that allows them to pro-actively see and react to problems in their networks. EtherProbe™ allows the network operator to monitor network performance, in real time, producing performance information beyond what traditional OAM standards were designed to provide. EtherProbe™ informs the operator when network performance has degraded below pre-determined performance levels, thus ensuring that both the operators and customers are aware of the network performance. Different performance metrics can trigger different events, such as setting an alarm or triggering a protection switch to an alternate path.
EtherProbe™ is a hardware platform and can either be integrated into Ethernet network access equipment or deployed as standalone “probes”, providing an all in one solution for monitoring Layer-2 traffic flows. |
